Electrical

Paxton energy ended up being basically a concierge energy company. They covered ALL bases! … He had a loan company lined up as well as electricians for the main panel and installers for the solar.

Solar

Their team was professional, knowledgeable, and transparent throughout the entire solar installation process. They took the time to explain my options, answered all of my questions, and made sure I understood the benefits and expected savings.

Electrical

Paxton Energy was super helpful, I just bought this house and found out the previous owner left me with mistakes on the electric panel. They were able to bring my panel up to city code and install the EV charger I asked for. Super grateful they were able to help with both.

Questions

Straight answers.

The things people ask on the first call.

Do I need a new roof before I go solar?

Sometimes. Panels last 25+ years, so if your roof has fewer than about 10 years left, it’s usually best to replace it first rather than pay to remove and reset panels later. We assess the roof during the free consultation and tell you either way — including when the answer is "your roof is fine, don’t spend the money." If it does need replacing, we coordinate that with our licensed roofing partners so the whole project still runs as one job.

What does "$0 down" actually mean?

It means financing covers the system cost, so you're not writing a check upfront. You make a monthly payment instead of (or alongside) a smaller utility bill. Whether that nets out in your favor depends on your rate and system size — we'll show you both numbers side by side before you commit to anything.

Will my electrical panel need to be upgraded?

Often, yes — especially on older LA homes with 100-amp service, and almost always if you're adding a battery or EV charger. Because we're licensed for electrical, we check capacity during the assessment and price the upgrade in the same proposal rather than discovering it on install day.

How long does an installation take?

The install itself is typically one to three days for a residential system. The full timeline — permits, city inspection, and utility permission to operate — usually runs several weeks to a few months depending on your jurisdiction and utility. We handle that paperwork and keep you posted.

Can I hire you for just electrical?

Absolutely. Plenty of our customers come to us for a panel upgrade or an EV charger and never install solar. There’s no bundle requirement and no obligation to hear a solar pitch.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — California Contractors State License Board #1124277, and we carry general liability and workers' compensation coverage. Ask for the certificate of insurance at any point in the process and we'll send it over the same day.
